Family Council

WHAT IS FAMILY COUNCIL?

Family Council is a parent/teacher organization similar to a P.T.A. or P.T.O. at some schools.  It is a volunteer group of parents, teachers and administrators who work together to support the programs of the school, strengthen the community, and add to the general sense of hospitality.

What makes Family Council different is the close bond we form with our Woodland School family. We are a dynamic group of new as well as seasoned parents who contribute energy and experience to improve the quality and commitment to the School.

Family Council serves as a bridge with the local community through service projects in neighboring towns and cities.

Family Council also serves as a support to fundraising for the school.  Our very popular and successful annual HIKE-A-THON brings in thousands of dollars to benefit the school.  Extensive playground improvements and equipment for our theater reflect Family Council’s dedication to school improvements.

Watch for announcements and meetings (usually held the first Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m.)!  We hope to get to know you!  Family Council Makes It Happen!
